oh shit ped came thru today with the new hamburger eyes shirts! get one!

we gave ourselves 2 days to put together a photo show, surprisingly it came out awesome. but not really surprisingly because everyone involved has tons of killer photos already on deck.

this bowie photo was the talk of the party as well as our centerpiece (its maybe 30 x 40). it wasnt in the issue and if you didnt come that night too bad because its already hanging at another show at fort mason or something.

i been experimenting with that color processor. heres a purps version of the cover photo from the new issue and you should come see it along with a bunch of other music related photos we're hanging right now for thursday, our new issue release party day, so come thru foo..

its that time again, time to press check the new issue..

no matter how many times we do this, there is always a level of anxiousness/excitement of seeing how the new stuff looks. im pretty sure this is the best/worst part of publishing..

frank got another machine and this one can print on larger parent sheets. instead of our regular 16 plates, we only have to use 8. (which is only 4 parent sheets)(which is why we had to re-do some shit) instead of 3 days of printing, its only 1..

the levels look good as ever, new machine actually kicks butt..

even more efficiency with 2 machines going at once, theres the covers..

next door to franks was vacant forevs, but these dudes just moved in. everyone in there looked like huge walking talking pitbulls. kinda eyeballing as i pulled out the digi. i wasnt trying to get grappled over some dumb shit so here's a photo of the signage..

this is an afterschool art class from " Lick Wilmerding High School ". awesome huh. im starting to enjoy these classes taking field trips to hang out and shoot the shit. thats lucas in the middle who will soon intern here..

these are the bad boys of gamma photographic. that's austin lee and david uzzardi. actually they dont work for gamma any more and they are gonna help us get our custom b/w processing and printing services up to standard..

this is frank and he's the guy responsible for printing hamburger eyes. we've been working with him for a few years now and its pretty much mandatory that he takes us out to lunch at a buffet spot right near his shop everytime we turn in an issue. he almost always gets clams and corn on the cob, but this time they didnt have corn on the cob and i forgot to ask him if he was pissed. also, he will put whole shrimps in his mouth and then spit out the shells just like if he was eating sunflower seeds. he's rad..

turns out we layed the whole thing out wrong so we rushed back to fix it. only took dave a few hours, stay tuned for production updates from the print shop..

we just got a giant box of the new ANP QUARTERLY featuring phyllis diller (?) and daido moriyama (!!!), its free so come get it..
